Greetings and welcome to The Potted Lid! I bet you’re curious what we’re about, which is why we created this handy page for you to read. If you have further questions about us and the blog, please submit them on the contact form below.
The Potted Lid: Name Origin
The first time we saw Battle Royale was a midnight showing at our university. First of all, Battle Royale is a kickass movie to see at a midnight showing at a university. Second of all, we concluded the funniest thing in the movie was the main character reaching into his duffel for a weapon and pulling out . . . a pot lid. A couple weeks later, we decided to start a blog together, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Dame Uta is a grad student in archaeology. In her time spent not studying, she writes about silent movies here on The Potted Lid. Confirming all stereotypes of academics, she also talks about documentaries here. You can find her on Tumblr (dameuta.tumblr.com) or on her sporadically-used Twitter (@DameUta)
Morike works boring office jobs in-between years-long international adventures. She writes about mecha anime and retro television here on The Potted Lid. On her personal blog KT’s Bookshelf she recaps retro television and writes about whatever. You can find her on Instagram @morike91. Read her posts on the 5th and 20th of every month and don’t forget to recommend your favorite mecha show to her!
Basil is a hybrid full-time office drone and part-time student zombie, and when not spending her spare time as an exhausted heap on the floor, she’s here ranting about video games. Keep an eye out for her rage driven word spew every 15th!
